Frequently asked questions
What can customers change?
Three things, each of which you can turn on or off: fix the shipping address within the same country, swap a line to another in-stock size or color of the same product at exactly the same price, and cancel the order before it's fulfilled.
How long do customers have?
You choose the edit window, from 5 minutes to 24 hours after the order is placed; the default is 30 minutes. Changes also stop as soon as any part of the order is fulfilled.
Does FixOrder issue refunds or charge customers?
No. FixOrder never refunds, captures payments, or changes prices. Swaps are limited to equal-price variants so the total never changes. When a customer cancels, the order is cancelled and restocked, and you issue any refund from Shopify admin.
What happens to Shopify Protect when an address is changed?
Changing the shipping address after checkout voids Shopify Protect on orders it covers. You have to acknowledge this before address edits can be turned on, customers on protected orders must accept a warning before saving, and your notification email says when coverage is likely void.
Customers don't see the FixOrder block. What should I check?
Make sure billing is active on the app's Home page, at least one action is on in Settings, and the blocks are added in the checkout editor (Thank you page) and the customer account editor (Order status page). The Order status block and the order actions menu need new customer accounts.
How do I keep my warehouse from shipping during the edit window?
Install the Shopify Flow fulfillment-hold recipe shown on the app's Fulfillment hold page. It holds new orders for the length of your window, then releases them.
How much does it cost, and how do I cancel?
$49/month with a 14-day free trial, billed by Shopify on your Shopify invoice. To cancel, uninstall the app from Shopify admin; billing stops automatically.
How do I get my data deleted?
Uninstalling deletes the shop's access token right away, and everything else is deleted when Shopify sends the shop/redact webhook 48 hours later. You can also email us to request deletion at any time.
